Mill and environmental performance 

UPM paper mill operate with certified ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 management systems and our paper mills in Europe participate in the EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS). 
Mill-specific EMAS statements and Environmental Reports detail performance in energy, emissions, and resource efficiency.

Wood origin and traceability 

All wood used in UPM paper production is legally sourced and traceable, verified through our FSC™ and PEFC Chain of Custody systems. 
Our Origin of Wood Statements confirm compliance with the EU Timber Regulation, US Lacey Act, and equivalent regional requirements. UPM Communication Papers is also in full preparation for EUDR compliance.

Environmental product declarations and product safety

To support transparent decision-making, UPM provides Paper and Carbon Profiles outlining environmental impacts. Additional product safety information—such as non-use warranties and GMO, further demonstrates the safety and environmental performance of our products.
