UPM has been listed as the forest and paper industry leader in the Dow Jones Sustainability Europe Index (DJSI) for 2016-2017 and has been included in the CDP Climate A List among 193 world leading companies.
UPM is the industry leader in the Dow Jones Sustainability Europe Index for the fifth year in a row. The DJSI follows a best-in-class approach, recognizing companies across all industries that outperform their peers in sustainability metrics. The annual Corporate Sustainability Assessment is conducted by an investment specialist RobecoSAM, and is based on a rigorous analysis of economic, environmental and social performance of the world's leading companies.

UPM is featured in the CDP's climate change program for the eighth year in a row for its climate actions and transparent climate reporting. CDP highlights companies leading the change towards a low carbon future.
In particular, UPM has been awarded high scores for their new 2030 responsibility targets and concrete actions.
UPM's Biofore strategy meets the challenges posed by climate change on many levels : it promotes sustainable forestry, resource efficiency production and the manufacturing of recyclable products that are based on renewable raw materials.
