Every print job consists of a set of demanding technical steps: from job definition and page creation, to proofing and prepress and then the actual printing. At the heart of UPM ColorCTRL is a powerful workflow technology that guides you through all of these steps.

UPM ColorCTRL simplifies colour management. Just select a paper type and it is automatically matched with the best profile. You don’t need to send profiles back and forth anymore. This principle is consistent throughout the workflow, from soft proofing to hard proofing and the final press-ready data. Combining two different print processes into one product is now much easier to arrange.

UPM ColorCTRL’s JDF support makes it possible to integrate print job data throughout the whole process. This data can then be used for presetting other devices such as imposition or plate setter correction curves.

When you upload files to UPM ColorCTRL, the systematic workflow automatically processes them. The online service takes care of production steps such as preflight, image optimisation, colour management and page trimming. The workflow functionality notifies you of possible errors immediately after file upload, which dramatically reduces the need for manual check-ups in later stages of the printing process and keeps you on schedule. Final print-ready files created with UPM ColorCTRL are prepared for printer’s
process according to the PDF-X standards.
